St. Anna's Clinic is the largest maternity hospital in the Ticino canton and one of the largest private maternity clinics in Switzerland.
The “cradle” for the local population, the clinic of St. Anne, was founded in Lugano by the sisters of the “Society of St. Anne” from Lucerne in 1922. It has been located in Sorengo since 1934. About 840 babies are born here. The clinic also has a neonatology department for intensive care of premature babies.

In 2013, an outpatient department for general medicine, oncology and surgery was opened in the clinic of St. Anne. The clinic also increased the number of beds due to the introduction of new high-standard rooms: 2 suites, 4 junior suites and 4 single rooms.
