San Donato Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Milan, Italy
The San Donato Hospital Group was founded in 1957 and includes 18 facilities. It is a pearl in the field of Italian healthcare, its activities are based on extensive know-how and the rich experience of medical workers, nurses and teams of specialists, whose focus has been on the patient’s well-being for almost 60 years.
Among the many areas and centers of excellence dedicated to the full range of health care services, special attention is paid to obstetrics and gynecology.
All types of operations are performed using traditional, vaginal or endoscopic methods.
It is a leading Italian center for the surgical treatment of tumors (benign and malignant) of the female genital tract. The hospital is an advanced international center, also thanks to modern diagnostic equipment installed at the institute.
- Destructive and staged laparotomy surgery of cancerous tumors
- Conservative, destructive laparotomy and vaginal surgery of benign neoplasms in the genital tract
- Urogynecological reconstructive surgery: genital prolapse, urinary incontinence
- Endoscopic surgery: diagnostic and surgical laparoscopy and hysteroscopy using innovative methods and instruments with a continuously expanding field of application, which represents an alternative to laparotomic surgery.
The center intensively carries out operations to remove malignant tumors of the female genital organs and chemotherapy courses.
A large number of infertile couples turn to this department every year, who are given access to the most advanced assisted reproductive technologies (IVF, ICSI).
The center offers a full range of services for the entire cycle of the birth of a child - from conception to birth.
One of the advantages is the opportunity for pregnant women to use the analgesia of labor pain for free around the clock. Pregnant women are guaranteed free access to painless childbirth using epidural analgesia.
The outpatient clinic offers preparatory courses before childbirth, as well as meetings for mothers with babies under the guidance of a psychologist, during which psychological and psychotherapeutic advice can be obtained.
Minimally invasive surgery
In addition to obstetric, gynecological and outpatient procedures, the San Donato Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology offers an innovative method of endoscopic gynecological surgery for a number of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions (treatment of ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic myalgia, etc.).
This is one of the few centers that use laser technology for such operations, which allows to reduce the duration of the surgical operation and provides greater accuracy during conservative operations, as well as reduces the time that needs to be spent in the hospital.
The advantage is that endoscopic gynecological operations are performed using a CO2 laser, which reduces the length of hospital stay and ensures quick recovery.
