Childbirth in Israel

The University Clinic has two maternity wards - on the campus on Mount Scopus and in Ein Karem.
The main maternity ward is located in Ein Karem, in the wing of the "Mother and Child Health" building, which opened in 1996 and is considered one of the most beautiful structures in the country. The building has nine floors and all of them are designed to accommodate pregnant women, mothers, infants and children.
The department has the most modern maternity rooms, a luxurious center for natural childbirth, designed for women who prefer childbirth with minimal medical intervention, multi-purpose maternity wards for the joint stay of a mother and a newborn baby.
The department also has a Mother and Child Health Center, which specializes in detecting risk factors in the fetus, where a number of complications arising during pregnancy are also treated.
The task of the Natural Childbirth Center in Israel is to lay the foundation that encourages physiological childbirth for women whose pregnancy is low-risk. This is achieved by a good level of safety within the modern practice of childbirth and minimal medical intervention.
The costs of preparing for childbirth in Israel are distributed as follows: prenatal time, 1-3 consultations with a doctor, tests, including blood tests and ultrasound (usually done once a week), monitoring immediately before childbirth in a day hospital, if necessary in case of delayed delivery.
The cost of the consultation is about $ 600, depending on the level of the specialist. The cost of the examination is about $ 1500- $ 2500.
