Rehabilitation after chemotherapy. Expert opinion

Rehabilitation after chemotherapyChemotherapy is a difficult procedure that many oncological patients have to strength with.

Radical methods of fighting cancer cells require courage and endurance from the patient. Hair loss, puffiness is only the tip of the iceberg. Toxic substances used during courses of chemotherapy, reduce human immunity, strike on the kidneys, liver, cardiac muscle. A person becomes sick, his health deteriorates, severe depression begins, and neuropathic pain may occur.

And, unfortunately, the general depressed state and reduced immunity is not only a deterioration in the quality of human life. Against this background, various comorbidities develop, and most importantly, cancer cells can again begin to multiply and relapse occurs: it is difficult for a weakened body to resist the disease. In such a situation, it is important to help the body recover faster.

In this article, an experienced specialist - oncologist-chemotherapist Linda Brokane - tells about a comprehensive system of rehabilitation after chemotherapy and methods that help patients to alleviate side effects, quickly return to their normal rhythm of life and reduce the risk of cancer recurrence.

Intravenous Vitamin C Therapy

Everyone knows about the benefits of vitamin C. And as scientific studies, which have been conducted since the 70s, have shown, it can be successfully used in oncology in hyper doses. The drug of high concentration, exceeding the required daily dose hundreds of times, is administered intravenously. This leads to the death of cancer cells and reduces inflammation, and also reduces the side effects of chemotherapy.

Helps in the fight against cancer and artesunat. This drug for intravenous injection is produced from extracts from special varieties of wormwood growing in Southeast Asia: it was originally used to combat parasitic diseases (including malaria). But studies have shown that, in combination with vitamin C hyperdoses, it also effectively suppresses the growth of cancer cells.

Another gift of nature is curcumin: a solution for intravenous infusions made on the basis of turmeric (Indian saffron). A number of laboratory and clinical studies have confirmed that curcumin destroys malignant cells - does not allow them to multiply: it is especially effective in the case of breast, intestinal, stomach and skin cancers. The drug is well absorbed by intravenous administration, unlike oral drugs, and is a powerful anti-inflammatory drug.

Other valuable substances that help the patient recover from radical therapy are also used during rehabilitation.

Diet and special supplements

Proper nutrition is very important for a weak person. Thanks to a competent diet that includes many vegetables, fruits, fresh juices, improves metabolism, the work of the organs and the composition of the blood. In the diet, you must enter a specially selected food additives that will help restore the natural microflora in the body and bring the heat exchange back to normal.

Ozone therapy

The fact that ozone in microscopic doses suppresses the growth of cancer cells, and enriching the blood with oxygen restores the antioxidant system and powerfully stimulates the immune system, scientists established in the second half of the last century. Over the decades, ozone therapy methods have improved and are successfully used as an additional therapy in oncology. They can be very diverse: intravenous infusions of solutions with ozone, autohemotherapy - a little blood is taken from the patient, ozonized and injected back; rectal ozone therapy - oxygen "enemas", etc.

Hydrocolonotherapy

It helps to remove toxic substances from the body and to flush the intestines with various solutions. Very effective are coffee enemas. Favorite by many tonic drink stimulates the release of toxins in the liver and gall bladder. To prepare the solution, special sorts of coffee with the addition of drugs are used, the technology and temperature are strictly maintained. And, of course, contraindications are taken into account.

Lymphatic drainage

In an oncologically ill person, after radical therapy and surgery, as a result of which the lymph nodes were removed, lymph flow is often hampered. There may be a so-called lymphostasis, swelling appear. Lymphatic drainage procedures help the patient to solve these problems.

Peace of mind

Exhausted by illness and heavy procedures, a person often falls into depression: his sleep is disturbed, his hands fall. To mobilize the body’s internal reserves to fight cancer, it is necessary for the patient to restore emotional balance. Acupuncture, yoga and qigong, art therapy and meditation, communication with a psychologist, special exercises help to restore lost harmony: sleep is getting better, worldview is changing, forces to fight appear.

A comprehensive rehabilitation program is aimed not only at the natural and artificial removal of toxins from the body, but also helps to improve the general psycho-emotional state, restore the antioxidant system and improve immunity, and it is these factors that contribute to recovery.
